ABOUT US

Transform Church exists to reach, teach, and empower people to live free in Christ and Transform their world

Our values

JESUS FIRST

Jesus is at the center of all we do.

It’s all for Him. It’s all about Him. It’s all because of Him.

He is the source of our salvation and transformation, the pathway to God and the example we follow individually and as a church community.

We believe that honor is an expression of how we demonstrate God’s love towards one another.

We choose honor through our speech and actions. This reflects His design as we follow the model for generosity by giving freely of our time, talents, and resources.

We place high value on people who are not here yet.

Reaching people far from God is the mandate of the local church, and the great commission of His people.

We live our lives out deeply as followers of Christ,

and sometimes that means getting uncomfortable so others may know Christ.

We passionately value those who are here by leading them in grace & truth.

We live with the expectation that prayer changes everything. Therefore, we pray boldly, we pray like it matters and pray in the name of Jesus.

We choose to speak life and elevate our faith to reflect the greatness of our God.

Because He is a miracle-working God, our prayers, dreams, and faith are bold and expansive.

We have outrageous contagious joy!
The house of God is a house of prayer, worship and a house of joy!

What we believe

The Bible

We believe in the Bible; it is the living, breathing Word of God, written by men under the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible was written over a 2,000 year period, by over 40 authors, and across 3 continents… and always points us back to Jesus in every book. It is our everyday guide to life and one of the ways we grow closer to God. It’s accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.

The Holy Spirit & His Gifts

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son, as God. The Holy Spirit is what Jesus promised us before he died on a cross and left this earth; he promised us a friend, advocate, a helper, and a guide into the truth. The Holy Spirit’s presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He lives in the heart of all believers, guiding us into all truth and exalting Christ. He convicts people of their sin, revealing that we are righteous in his sight. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.

We believe the Gifts of the Spirit are for today, and that Holy Spirit manifests them as He chooses amongst his church.

God The Father

God is the creator of all things. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy. God is good. He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. God is always with us. He never leaves us. We believe that God loves all people and sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die upon the cross to give us the free gift of Salvation.

The Church

We believe Jesus bridges the gap to God the Father, therefore the church bridges the gap between people and Jesus himself. We believe the Church is the body of Christ. Jesus is the head of the Church, both local and universal. The mission of the Church is to make disciples of all nations, as Jesus commanded us. The Church is not only a location; it’s a body of believers who are united. We believe church isn’t just a place you attend, but a place to belong, to grow, and to serve in.

Jesus, Salvation & The Second Coming

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to redeem humanity from a lost eternity and to bring about the forgiveness of sins for all who confess and believe in Him as Savior. Our good works or religious duties do not save us-only God’s grace can do that. We believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day and now sits at the right hand of the living God making intercession for the saints [forgiveness of sins]. We believe in the virgin birth, the miracles of Christ, His death, burial and resurrection. We believe He will come again.

Marriage & Family

We believe that family is God’s first institution reflecting His nature and design. We are made to be His family and in relationship with Him and others. We find His Word gives wisdom on how to have a flourishing marriage and family and as we follow Him we see the blessings of His promises.

We believe marriage is a covenant relationship created by God to be shared between one man and one woman and exists for the greatest level of human flourishing.

Our Senior Pastors

Pastors Anthony and Miriam Fleming met in 1999 at Liberty University, in Lynchburg, VA. Anthony, who was born and raised in Australia, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing. Miriam, originally from New Jersey, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. A few years later they moved to Sydney, Australia where they continued their Biblical studies in leadership & ministry.

Upon completion of their studies, they soon felt God’s direction to move back to New Jersey to plant a church. Both Anthony and Miriam were ordained pastors in April 2005 through the local church ministry The Good Shepherd Church led by Miriam’s father, Antonio Leonardo who has pastored for over 40 years.

Transform Church started off as a small home group in Rutherford, NJ in October of 2004, and had its first public church service on January 30, 2005.

From the age of 19, Anthony believed he was called to preach God’s word. Since then, he has had a great passion to grow in his relationship with God, and see others come into a life changing connection with Jesus Christ.

From a very young age Miriam felt the call of God on her life in the area of ministry as well. Being in a pastor’s home her whole life enabled her to get a heart for God’s work and His people. Miriam co-pastors with Anthony and shares God’s word from one-on-one discipleship to church-wide services.

Pastors Anthony and Miriam have a passion for loving God, loving people, and loving life! Their greatest desire is to see all people transform their lives and live free in Christ.
